Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 Oil Free

Flawless finish?

I was very disappointed with the original Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. Far from creating the flawless finish I was looking for, I ended up with terrible break outs around my nose - and I rarely suffer from spots.

At £33 per 50ml, this product is very expensive so I was reluctant to spend another £33 on the oil free version.

However, I am really pleased I did! In my opinion, the oil free version still creates the beautiful healthy glow of the original and it even seems to sink in to my skin better than the original.

Like the original, the oil free version has a light texture with a pleasant (almost barely there) scent. It easily blends which means I'm able to use it only where I feel I'd like some coverage.

You will still have use a concealer to cover any very red areas or spots but you can layer the moisturiser up to get a bit more coverage.

How to use it

I've been using the "Nude" colour (test spodge below) and I apply it using my fingers.  I have tried using a brush to apply it but didn't think it made enough of a difference to bother.

Depending on your skin type, you might (like me) want to put a little bit of normal moisturiser on underneath it.

Disadvantages?

Word of caution - this product does not travel well! After a short flight to Spain, the original tube exploded and leaked all over my make up bag. When purchasing the oil free version, I raised this with the sales assistant who told me that Laura Mercier are looking into this issue. I'd suggest decanting a small amount into a travel pot if you're going away.
